American Medical Instruments Holdings, Inc. was a holding company that owned and operated seven medical device companies. Under AMIH’s ownership, the seven companies were organized into two primary operating units, Inter-V and Surgical Specialties. The Inter-V Business operated the companies focused on specialty needles, biopsy devices, interventional radiology devices, urology, gastroenterology and vascular access cardiology devices. The Surgical Specialties Business operated the companies focused on devices for the surgical care and treatment of the human eye. In addition, it provided wound closure devices including drilled-end needles, micro and specialty wound closure needles, surgical suture material and adhesive wound closure devices for the direct and OEM markets.
